Get Ready for a Safe & Fun CCMF

Myrtle Beach city officials are talking about Carolina Country Music Fest (CCMF) and reminding festivalgoers of how to have a safe and fun time at one of the region’s largest events. The event is Thursday through Sunday, June 5-8, at Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place, 812 North Ocean Boulevard.

Here are some special reminders to know before you go:

  • Roads will closed. Cyclists and pedestrians should utilize the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk to get from Ocean Boulevard at Ninth Avenue North and Seventh Avenue North.
  • MBPD officers will be in yellow polos for high visability.
  • Be patient when driving around the festival or to/from the festival.
  • Use Waze or Google Maps to get around.
  • Use Ninth Avenue North at Oak Street for rideshare.
  • Stay alert and drive carefully for pedestrians and other drivers.
  • Create a game plan with your CCMF group and have a plan to get home.
  • If you see something, say something.
  • Stay hydrated. Bring reusable water bottles to take advantage of water stations.
  • An on-site field hospital is able to treat minor injuries.
  • Emergency management officials work with National Weather Service to monitor the weather.
  • Expect heat and the potential for pop-up showers.
  • Grounds will be cleared if lightning within eight miles of the festival.
  • Pay attention to message boards and if attending the festival, download the CCMF phone app.

Road closures begin Friday, May 30. Expect heavy traffic in the area throughout the festival. Here are the planned road closures:

    • Includes north and south sidewalks along this stretch of Ocean Boulevard
    • Closed 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 30, through 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12
  • Ocean Boulevard, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues North
    • Closed 8:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, through 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 11
  • Eighth Avenue North, all lanes and parking spaces

Using a ridesharing service to get to and from Carolina Country Music Fest? Ninth Avenue North’s eastbound lane is the designated drop-off and pick-up area for rideshares, between Broadway Street and Kings Highway. Drivers should enter Ninth Avenue North through Oak or Broadway Streets and will exit southbound onto Kings Highway. Traffic control measures will be in place for guidance.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department will implement a new, late-night traffic management plan during CCMF to help reduce congestion and keep everyone safe. This plan will be in place from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. nightly, Wednesday, June 5, through Sunday, June 8. Please avoid the festival area during this time and drive alert and carefully, as many pedestrians and vehicles will be in the area. Myrtle Beach police officers will help guide traffic.   • Third Avenue South & Kings Highway
    • Northbound Kings Highway traffic turns west onto 3rd Avenue South
    • Officers will direct traffic at Ocean Boulevard and 3rd Ave South
  • Eighth Avenue North / Highway 501
    • Highway 501 northbound traffic will turn south onto Kings Highway
    • Kings Highway northbound traffic will detour onto Highway 501
    • Officers will help ensure safe artist departures
  • NinthAvenue North & Kings Highway
    • Ride-share vehicles will exit via Highway 501
    • This helps keep pedestrians safe and allows shuttle access
  • Joe White Avenue & Kings Highway
    • Southbound Kings Highway traffic turns west onto Joe White Avenue
    • Shuttle buses may turn east here
    • Ocean Boulevard traffic may continue north or west
    • Officers will manage traffic and block southbound Kings Highway
