Before the summer season along the Grand Strand winds down, one more exciting holiday weekend brings us all together to celebrate on the beach. That’s right, it’s Labor Day Weekend.

It’s important to remember that it will be a busy time throughout Horry and Georgetown Counties.

Expect increased traffic and the possibility of road diversions on Ocean Boulevard within the City of Myrtle Beach if needed.

Along with increased vehicle and foot traffic, restaurants, shops and attractions will be busy. Safety should be on the minds of everyone here seeking to enjoy the holiday weekend.

Please remember that fireworks regulations vary throughout Horry and Georgetown County depending on the area that you are in. As a general rule, fireworks are never allowed on the beach and are allowed on private property between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., subject to the property owner’s permission, and until 12:30 a.m. on July 5 and New Year’s Day. Establishments that sell fireworks within Horry County are required to post the local municipalities’ rules and regulations regarding fireworks.

Rather than shoot off your own fireworks, enjoy public firework displays.
