Now that summer is winding down, new beach rules are in effect along the Grand Strand. Check out the list of changes for our area beaches:
City of Myrtle Beach
- Dogs: Now allowed on the beach anytime (through Apr 30).
- Boardwalk: Dogs & bicycles now allowed anytime (through Apr 30).
- Shade: Umbrella-only ends—tents/canopies up to 12×12 allowed until the day before Memorial Day.
Unincorporated Horry County
- Dogs & bikes: Summer 10 a.m.–5 p.m. ban ends—both now allowed anytime. (Umbrella-only shade rule remains year-round.)
Surfside Beach
- Dogs: Summer 10 a.m.–5 p.m. ban ends—leashed dogs now allowed anytime.
North Myrtle Beach
- Dogs: Summer 10 a.m.–4 p.m. ban ends—leashed dogs now allowed anytime.
- Bikes/E-bikes: Summer 10 a.m.–4 p.m. ban ends—now allowed anytime.
- Shade: Umbrella-only (May 15–Labor Day) ends for the season.
